Are you being fruitful? // Fruits of the Spirit
The fruits of the spirit mentioned in Galatians 5:22 are the evidence that we have the spirit of God living on the inside on us. We often times pull so much on the things of God, without having his fruits. Love, Peace, Joy, Gentleness, Goodness, Patience, Kindness, Self Control, and Faithfulness is everything that God is , and everything that we should have by carrying His spirit. We have been adopted into God’s family, this means that by us having his fruits we now look like our Father in heaven. Our Dna has changed, and we have now taken on our spiritual Dna. We are acknowledging that we are a new person in Christ, old things have passed away. We have been redeemed and made new. My challenge to everyone reading this, is to reflect on how we treat others, ourselves, and God. Are we truly displaying fruits in our lives? Or are you allowing the enemy to control you life, mood, and actions? The goal on the enemy is to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). The enemy is after what God has given us, which ultimately is the Holy Spirit. So don’t allow your fruits to become rotten! Don’t allow the enemy to steal your peace that God has freely given you. Peace in the middle of a storm, peace that doesn’t make sense. Be someone’s peace, reassure someone that God has already handled their situation, pray with someone, etc! Also, don’t allow the enemy to get you into such a low place that you can’t receive love, but you also can’t give love either. God loved you so much, that he gave his son, Jesus, to die on the cross for you while you were literally still in sin and in denial that you needed God. That is how great the love of God is. Love is the greatest commandment, but are you really showing love and doing everything in love? Lean into God and you will start to understand that true love that he gives us daily. For God is love. Show people love, and they will see/feel God. How to love? 1 Corinthians 13 has the answer. God treats us with gentleness, so we should do the same with our spouses, kids, parents, friends, etc. We should control our tongues, control our thoughts, control our bodies. Speak and think positive. As we display self control, we are allowing Jesus to be Lord. Meaning we are allowing him to have full authority over our mouth, minds, and bodies. Surrender to God, be led by him, and he will take the wheel and drive. You just have to ride. Be morally right, always do the right thing. Show goodness in your life, be honest to everyone and with yourself. Be integral at all times. Dont lie or manipulate. Tell the truth always. Be kind to each other and yourself, everyone is deserving of a helping hand just as God gives us. Show yourself friendly and generous to everyone. Don’t be stingy, for God will provide you with everything you need and more. Be the change that you want to see. Be the person that you wish you had in your life. Be faithful, a person of your word, God’s promises are yes and amen because he is faithful. We should all be the same to each other, keep your word and promises. If you made a commitment, fulfill it with joy. Be joyful! For the joy of the Lord is your strength, in your everyday lives, the fact that you are still alive is a reason to be joyful! Spread that joy with someone else, make someone’s day. Sometimes the only happiness people receive is from us. Be the light in the darkness. God was patient with us while we were yet still in sin. He gives us chance after chance to get it right, and he welcomes us with open arms. Be patient with others, learn how to wait. Stop rushing God and people. Maybe God is trying to speak as you are waiting… Maybe he is trying to teach you something and show you something as you wait… Or maybe he is shielding you from something that he sees that you don’t… Be on God’s timing, and extend that same grace to others. When you rush you don’t have time to sit and relax. So relax in your wait , and season of patience. And be gentle. Be calm with talking to others. There is no need to be angry, but handle everyone and everything with care. Even yourself, don’t condemn yourself and don’t condemn others. Be compassionate, full of grace, and mercy. Just as is God is towards us. Be thoughtful, go with the flow of Spirit. The fruits of God work together to ensure that we are being Christ ambassadors here on earth. Modeling who Jesus Christ is. We need to get to the place where God is seen thru us by how we act, talk, live, and our character. We also need to get to the place where we not only treat others with care but also ourselves. This message is very simple, because I want everyone to reflect and do better as it comes to displaying the fruits of the spirit. It is something so simple that we overlook, but it is the greatest evidence that we have of the Holy Spirit. Let us all be filled and led by the Spirit of God. We need to start acting like our father. I encourage everyone to treat others the way that God treats you throughout your mistakes, faults, and doubts. Study who God is, the fruits are his characteristics shown all throughout the bible. So allow God to transform you, and then spread it to someone else and be the light. I pray that this week, God refills everyone with His spirit. That he pours into us, so that we can pour into others. I pray that we all have eyes to see what God sees, ears to hear him, and a heart to receive and understand him. Our life is not about us, but it is about bringing people to Jesus Christ. We must first let Christ shine on the inside of us, so that people will be drawn to us. We let him shine by displaying those fruits. We are now saved, and redeemed through Christ Jesus, so let’s begin to show his same characteristics to everyone all throughout our lives from now until forever. Always remember you are known for the fruit you produce, not the gifts you display. Let us all walk in the Spirit.
